Educational Material Distribution Activity
Organized by NSS Unit – Vande Mataram Degree College, Dombivli (W)
Date: 5th September 2024 (Teacher’s Day)
Venues: Bharat Mata Vidyamandir, Dombivli (W) & Dombivli Railway Station
On the special occasion of Teacher’s Day, celebrated annually on 5th September in memory of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the NSS Unit of Vande Mataram Degree College, Dombivli (W) organized an Educational Material Distribution Activity to promote the value of education and support children in need.
The event took place at two locations:
At Bharat Mata Vidyamandir, NSS volunteers interacted with school children and distributed essential educational materials such as: Notebooks and writing materials (pens, pencils, erasers), Drawing books and coloring supplies
The students were excited and grateful to receive these supplies, which will aid them in their academic pursuits. A short motivational session was also conducted, during which NSS program officer prof. Yogesh Kamble shared inspiring thoughts about education and the importance of respecting teachers. Following this, the NSS Unit visited Dombivli Railway Station, where they reached out to underprivileged children in the vicinity. Here too, the volunteers distributed similar educational kits and engaged with the children, encouraging them to pursue learning with dedication.
The entire activity was carried out under the guidance of President Dr. Rajkumar Kolhe and NSS Program Officer Prof. Yogesh Kamble, dedicated NSS volunteers who actively participated in both planning and execution. This initiative was not only a tribute to the guiding light of teachers but also a meaningful effort to spread knowledge and kindness in the community. It strengthened the NSS motto of “Not Me But You”, instilling values of empathy and responsibility in all participants.
